These days, the quickest way to find something out about someone is to check out their Facebook profile. Not only do we share where we live, but also where we are during the day (by “checking in” at and/or posting from specific locations). We post about our new shiny things, and let people know when and where we are going on holiday: All things that burglars can make use of if they want to rob us.

To remind people of this and to make them aware of how much information they actually share on their Facebook page, we will create an app that scans their profile to determine how secure it is. A score is then calculated based on the information it finds.

Subject to the result, it will suggest changes that can be made to make it more secure. If it i.e. registers that someone posts a lot of photos when they go abroad, it can suggest that they do this when they get home instead.
